Dr. Adam Kouyoumjian Inducted Into The American Academy Of Orthopaedic Surgeons

Associated Orthopedics and Sports Medicine today announced that Adam L. Kouyoumjian, D.O. was inducted as an associate member, osteopathic, of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons on March 22, 2006, during ceremonies at the Academy’s 73rd Annual Meeting in Chicago.

Dr. Kouyoumijan was one of 121 new osteopathic associate members inducted into the academy that has 29,361 members worldwide. Dr. Kouyoumjian specializes in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery.

An orthopedic surgeon is a physician with the extensive training in the diagnosis and nonsurgical as well as surgical treatment of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. The Academy is the largest medical association for musculoskeletal specialists. Associate members, osteopathic, are certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, hold a full and unlimited medical license and practice in the U.S. and Canada.

With more than 29,000 members, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (www.aaos.org) or (http://orthoinfo.aaos.org) is a not-for-profit organization that provides education programs for orthopaedic surgeons, allied health professionals and the public.
