Dr. Michael Schwartz

Dr. Michael Schwartz is one of the senior partners at Associated Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, where he has been in practice since 1998. He is a board-certificate and fellow-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder.

Dr. Schwartz graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education of The City University of New York in 1990, and received his medical degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1992.

Dr. Schwartz completed a general surgery internship at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York. He performed his orthopedic surgery residency at New York Medical College and The State University of New York at Stony Brook. He graduated in 1997, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He completed a fellowship in arthroscopy and sports medicine at Associated Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 1998.

Since being in practice, Dr. Schwartz has served as the chief of the department of orthopedics at The Medical Center of Plano; as well as a clinical preceptor of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center's Physician Assistant Program and the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center Physician Assistant Division. Additionally, he has been an Associate Master Instructor of Arthroscopy for the Arthroscopy Association of North America on numerous occasions, teaching advanced arthroscopic techniques to other orthopedic surgeons.

Dr. Schwartz is the team physician for the Allen Americans professional hockey team. Additionally, Dr. Schwartz is currently working towards his MBA at Texas Tech University.

He lives in Frisco with his wife and daughter. In his free time, he enjoys travelling and playing ice hockey.
